Narwhal Natty made its appearance, but there are still many users who are curious enough to use Ubuntu but for some reason do not dare.
For those who are afraid to jump completely to Ubuntu or any Linux distribution, I recommend you first go using more free software on your system replaces the proprietary (IE9, Office, Photoshop, Corel etc), sometimes inadvertently already using free software. This will make your transition more enjoyable.
Some programs recommended for use before switching to Linux:
| Program Type | Free Software | Instead |
| Internet Browser Firefox | , Chrome, Opera | Internet Explorer, Safari |
| Office Suite | LibreOffice | Microsoft Office |
| video player | Kmplayer | Windows Media |
| photo editor and drawing | Gimp, Inkscape | Photoshop, Corel Draw |
| Audio Editor | Audacity | - |
| Audio Mixed | Mixxx | Virtual DJ |
| P2P Exchange | Frostwire | Ares |
Just to mention some examples, and do not worry, what you can do in your current OS either Windows or Mac, you can do in a Linux distro.
